You're Beautiful, Though..

But.. You’re beautiful..

He says.

Why waste your time on him?

Unfortunately

The decision I have made

Is not

A whim.

Dedicated my life

My heart

And my soul

All of that

Ain't for nothing

No matter what

You’ve been told.

Are you crazy?

He says.

Delusional?

Or Dumb?

Why give it

All you got?

That dude is a bumb.

I say,

None of the above.

The heart wants

What it wants

At least I’m being

Honest

With where I

Place my love.

What’s on the

Outside

Matters none.

It’s my heart

With the beauty.

And if he can bring it out

Then I feel it’s my duty

To shine my inner

Light

On the world

To be seen.

Even if the love

I seek

Is only

In a dream.

So, if you think

I’m beautiful...

What exactly

Do you see?

Are you looking

On the outside,

Or the inside

Of Me?
