Love Is A Verb.jpg

Transitive Vs. Intransitive

My flesh would say to her...

“Jump off of a high hill, whore,

And shatter...”

But Proverbs 15:1

Tells me

That all of my words

Matter

So

While the two of you

Are busy

Killing me with your

Sword

I will

Cry out to

My

Lord

For

“Vengeance is mine,”

He says.

So, while I

Grow sadder

As she continues to

Flatter

You with her

Cacophonous

Coquetry

I’ll be inspired to

Poetry

Until it has

Broken me

Conveniently

You throw this

Word

Around

Having no

Idea

Of its

Real meaning

Antecedently

You seemed

Aware of

Exigent

Explications

But...

In spite of your

Education

You now

Lack

That type of

Knowledge.

Maybe you should

Consider

College.

Not even just

Recently

Have you had the

Decency

To stop with all the

Secrecy

Sin comes to you so

Easily

And breezily

Until it knocks you

Down

Then, here you come

So speedily

Back in my direction

But, wait...

What about your

Erection?

Oh, no!!!

I can’t help you with

That one

No baptism, no ring

So...

That’s done

Yet...

You'll be back

Any day now

On my doorstep

Again

Misusing that

Word

Is it that

Somewhere

Along the paths

You’ve walked,

You misheard

The meaning?

Or did you feel

Authoritative enough

That you

Transferred

The terminology

To fit with your

Psychology

For every time

You come around

With this

Counterfeit

Apology

You and

This

Word..

You and

This

Word..

You and

This

WORD....

It’s all

I hear

It’s thoroughly

Translucent

And chock full

Of fear

It comes out of

Your mouth

Fades into black

And disappears

Fried; sizzled

Immediately

By the global warming

In the atmosphere...

Because of what

You still have yet

To learn...

Oh, yeah...

You gon learn today...

That

Word

It ain’t something

Anyone has to

Earn...

Okay?

It definitely ain’t

Something you

Deserve,

Yet it’s granted.

It’s always in

Existence

Even when you’re

Empty-handed.

For a while, I thought,

“He’ll observe me,

Then his wisdom

Shall be expanded.”

But...

I’ll just be candid

That’s far from where

We landed.

But

The reason why

I get it

And you don’t

Has been

Conferred

No matter what;

We'll

Never see

Eye to eye

And I’m disturbed

That

Word

That I’ve been

Speaking of

To you

This may all sound

Absurd...

But the lesson

Of this

Session

Is,

That

Word

“LOVE,”

It is a

VERB.
