  The Unattainable Dream

Standing in the midst of the roaring sea
Everywhere I turn, the waves engulfing me
No clear view of the shore in my sight
No prospects of sunrise; only never-ending night.

My soul bearing stains
of love goals unattained
Floating face up in an ocean
Under thunder and rain.

Until you came.

Unequivocal certainty you bring
Of a love unseen
The grass on your side
Is a bright emerald green.

The new light of day
Is revealed in your smile
Hope, now becomes assurance
And denial; exiled.

God blessed the world
When He created your soul
You have changed mine forever
And made my heart whole.

My mind flashes forward
Seeing future as past
Our memories collected
In my heart, and amassed.

Are you out there somewhere?

Do you really exist?

If I reach out to

Touch you,

Will you turn into mist?

Only you hold the key

To my hell in a cell

Will you materialize

Or vanish...

Only time will tell.
