Strength

Her delicate frame

Shuddered tensely with fear

Her eyes and face, wet

With tear after tear

The world seemed so big

Threatening to consume

Every day of the future

Filled with impending doom.

She peered down inside

To her darkness within

And whispered, “I need you,

For I cannot depend

On myself anymore

To get through this time.”

Then she closed her eyes...

What happened next was sublime.

A blazing light emerged

From her soul down deep

Its voice spoke to her and said,

“Please do not weep,

For I’ve heard your plea,

And will stay for as long

As my presence is needed.

Please tell me, what’s wrong?”

She spilled out her heart

And her fears were revealed.

The light then engulfed her

Until she was healed.

She then asked, “Before you go,

Tell me your name.”

The light replied, “Strength.

You called, and I came.”
