Promises Broken

Said you would

Take Me

To

Heaven,

And we

Ascended to

New heights;

Looking down from

Fluffy clouds,

Taking in the lovely

Sights..

And,

Suddenly

I

Began to plunge,

Nothing there

To catch my

Fall..

I looked for you

In skies above

But saw nothing

At

All.

Said you'd be

My

Forever

Love,

You'd stay and

Keep me warm,

You said you'd be

My

Umbrella

Each time

I faced

A storm,

Now...

I'm freezing cold,

The fire's out

And rain is

Pouring

Down;

Each path

You led,

You stopped

Halfway

And then you turned

Around..

I searched for

You

With

Hopefulness;

For,

You had me

Convinced

Your Love

Would rain

Continuously..

Its

Waterfall

Condensed;

I'm on

This road

Now,

Hitchhiking

A ride

To the

Unknown..

For,

Paradise

Was not

With you..

I'll find it

On

My

Own.
