Not Sure Why I called

I called you that night

No idea what I was thinking

Could be I went insane

Could just be that I was drinking

Had a temporary thought

That my love for you existed

When I woke the next morning

Realized I never missed it

You broke my heart; left it

in pieces on the ground

Had trouble trying to find it

When I took a look around

Not sure why I

picked up the phone

to tell you that I cared

I was inebriated

My inhibitions were impaired

So this is my apology

So sorry that I lied

I remember that I loved you once;

Remember that I cried

Remember that I once believed

that you could be the one

I recall the day you disappeared

Since all you do is run

I remember how you smiled at me;

the beauty in your eyes

Remember how our love concluded

To my great surprise

The one thing that I can't recall

is why I called your phone

Going forward, you can be sure

That I'll leave you alone.
