My Lifetime Companion
The silence of reality
Was deafening to my ears
The whispers of the future
Magnified by imminent fears
With Death, I lie in comfort
In a firm and warm embrace
Finding solace that; in her world,
I had nothing left to face.
I waded in her ocean
searching for her deep abyss;
To drown me in my sorrows
For, each one had come to this...
Till out of nowhere, came
A giant hand
That rescued me from me;
And a voice, the sound of thunder
said, "I've more for you to see."
"You've allowed your trials to burden you,
But each one was a test;
Seek, and ye shall find
The gift of strength
And in Me,
Ye shall rest."
So, I handed Him my troubles,
He reduced them all to dust,
Then, instantly, I felt renewed
In Him, I placed my trust.
My new dwelling is His shoulder,
I rest there when I am weak;
And whenever life grows colder,
It is Him,
not Death
I seek.
