Sleep In Heavenly Peace

I

Wonder if

That day

Is coming soon

Or if

I got

A while?

The days

Are getting

Tougher

Walking down

That long

Green mile

Spending every

Waking moment

Trying to

Dodge that

Ole Belial

But

Getting easier

By the minute

To walk

Down that

Narrow aisle

And though

The shadows

Of the

Valley

Look

Increasingly

Hostile;

I know

My

Lord and

Savior

Will

Deliver me

From trial

Doing

Everything I

Can to

Emulate

The Son’s

Lifestyle

So my

Desired

Destination

Will be

With Him;

Reconciled

Glad I can’t

Bring all

The memories

On earth

That I’ve

Compiled

Sure;

There were

Good times

But this

Journey;

Was like

Scrambling through

The wild

If I tried

Ignoring

All the

Pain

I’m in

It’d be

Denial..

What I

Know

Is when

I’m lain

To rest,

I’ll do it

With a

Smile.
