His Name Was "Love"

I looked, and caught his glance,

he asked to have this dance;

caught in his trance,

I craved romance, so i gave him a chance.

he swept me off my feet,

i fell hard, like concrete,

his taste so sweet,

just like a treat,

i gave in to defeat.

how did he know my name?

i can't accept the blame,

his ardent flame

i could not tame

now, i am filled with shame.

believed the words he said,

he stole my heart and fled;

such tears i shed,

alone in bed

he got inside my head.

though i'm left all alone,

i don't wait by the phone;

his cover's blown

wish i had known...

i'm better on my own.
