Amazed

I am walking

I see you

Up ahead

Arms extended

Out to me

For your embrace.

I pick up my speed

And out of nowhere

An invisible wall

Takes me down.

I run into it

With a great thud

But I look up

And I can still see your

Face.

I pick myself up

And try again.

I walk slower

This time around.

You’re still there

Beckoning me

To come near.

I am desperate

To reach you.

To touch you.

To feel you.

To be enraptured

By you.

To give my full consent

To be imprisoned

By your grace.

I walk with fierce

Courage

Knowing that

I may be hit again

By another

Invisible wall

But that does not cease

My attempt

To try yet again.

I move

With agility

And quickened

Pace.

I’m so close now.

You’re almost

Within reach.

I’m running.

But as soon as

I'm within

Arm's length

I run into

Yet another

Glass wall...

I can never

See them coming

Whether I walk slowly

Or

With great haste.

And whenever

I get close enough

To feel your breath

Hear your voice

Or

See your silhouette

And I smell

The sweet scent

Of

Salvation...

That’s never even

The case.

I stumble

Around

In

Darkness

Searching

For A

Taste

Of

The past.

When we were

Happy.

When you

Smiled.

Now that I

Can no longer bear

The

Space

Between us;

It has become

Infinite.

I extend my

Grasp

For remnants

Of you...

But I am left

Without a

Trace.
